Got questions?
Email Lou and El : shoeschoolnz@gmail.com with your preferred workshop date/s and any questions you may have.
What workshops is the 10% off group booking available on?
The 10% off group booking is available on the 1-day Sneaker, Mule, Sandal and Harness workshops. Min of x2 bookings.
Is this workshop suitable for beginners?
Yes. I have designed the workshops for all levels of experience. However, some workshops are more intensive than others. If you are looking for a gentler experience, I recommend enrolling in the 1-Day Sneaker Workshop. All other workshops require cutting heavy leathers, hammers and glues. If this is not your jam that's ok!
Yes a Can I buy a Shoe School Gift Voucher?
Yes. www.shoe-school.com/gift-voucher
Can I lay-by a workshop?
Yes. Please email us shoeschoolnz@gmail.com and we can set up a lay-by account for you.
Workshop dates
We schedule workshops at least 3 months in advance. If there isn't a workshop date that suits you, sign up to the newsletter and receive notice when new dates are announced. Or you’re welcome to email us and request a custom date.
Is the workshop wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The entrance is, however there are 3 steps leading to the toilet. There are accessible toilets 200 metres away.
How do I measure my feet for the 4-day Boot, 5-Day Victorian Boot and 4-day Custom Sneaker workshop?
Measurements are required for these x3 workshops only. Once you've booked your place in a workshop we will email you pdf instructions on how to measure your feet. Be sure to send me your foot measurements at least 2 weeks in advance of your workshop as I'll be creating pre-prepared patterns for you.
Is parking available?
There is free parking available on the residential streets north of Shoe School. I recommend giving yourself a little extra time to find a park - as we're close to the Zoo and the Hospital.
How do I find your workshop?
The workshop is located at 247 Riddiford St, the main street of the suburb of Newtown. Buses regularly stop in Newtown from the CBD and I recommend using the Wellington bus journey planner - www.metlink.org.nz The airport is a 15 minute drive from the workshop.
What do I need to bring?
Just your sweet self. If it's a hot sunny day wear lightweight clothes and if not, an extra jacket. The shop is street facing with large windows and we feel the weather! You are welcome to bring your lunch to eat in the workshop.
Lunch recommendations?
Oh ho, ho YES. I recommend Good Boy Sammies, Urban Masala, Peoples Coffee (12 Constable St) and Mediterranean Foods.
Returns and exchanges of sneaker soles
To avoid disappointment I recommend you print out the Sneaker size guide (at 100%!) and compare it against a pair of your own converse-style sneakers soles.
If you’d like a refund or exchange we offer either on full-priced items, minus any shipping costs. Unfortunately discounted items cannot be returned and are final sale. To return an item, it must be in original condition and unused.
To make a return or exchange please email shoeschoolnz@gmail.com within 24 hours of receiving your purchase, and then return the item to:
SHOE SCHOOL, 247 Riddiford St, Newtown, Wellington 6021, New Zealand
Please make sure that the returned item is back at Shoe School within 7 days of originally receiving the goods. Remember to get a tracking number as we can’t take responsibility for any lost or damaged packages. Once the item has been returned to Shoe School you will receive your refund.
Are vegan leathers available?
We're sorry, but no! We hope that one day soon vegan leathers will become more accessible, but as we're a small business we are unable to import the range we'd like to.
